If you are one of those who enjoy savoring their reading moments on reading light, and know that these could soon enter a new era. Indeed, color screens should soon make their arrival!

And because good news never comes alone, folding reading lights are, like smartphones, emerging.

Readers are modernizing

If you are a fan of comics, for example, it is true that e-readers do not naturally present themselves as the first choice, due to the absence of colors. However, this could soon change since the company E Ink, in charge of manufacturing e-reader screens, has unveiled its brand new colorful model: the Gallery 3.

If color screens already exist on the e-reader side, this could well be the first to be advanced enough to offer a sufficiently fast color reproduction mode, and thus not slow you down in your reading. This panel would allow you to choose between three different color display modes in addition to black and white: a fast mode (500 ms), a standard mode (between 750 and 1000 ms) and finally a last mode, the most faithful in its color reproduction, which would require only a second and a half.

In the next 24 hours, during Touch Taiwan 2022, the E Ink brand should also unveil two new types of 8-inch color screens: one being foldable and the other being rollable. If the concept of having a roll-up reading light can be very practical, especially when traveling, the arrival of folding reading lights is almost obvious. Indeed, this would make it possible to offer a reading experience that would come as close as possible to that of the book.
