At least 127 people were killed in serious riots following a soccer game in the Indonesian province of East Java. According to the police, around 180 people were taken to the hospital.
The police used tear gas to disperse the rampaging fans, said Nico Afinta of the local police.
The riots broke out after the first division game between Arema FC and Persebaya FC. After the 3-2 defeat in Malang, fans stormed the pitch. The authorities had used tear gas, according to the police, which led to stampede and suffocation.
