Microsoft is improving
The difficulties that arose were apparently not isolated cases and so far-reaching that the manufacturer is now making improvements out of turn. Unscheduled updates are now available for various versions of Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server, which are intended to fix the mess caused by the previous patches. In addition to the VPN problem, the updates fix problems with removable media formatted in ReFS format, among other things. According to Microsoft, this bug was also a consequence of the last patch.
The new updates are available in the official Microsoft update catalogue. You can also download many of them directly via Windows as an optional update. The patches are available for the following versions of the operating system:
Patches fix other problems
The updates for the older Windows versions in particular address further problems that have arisen since the January patch. These include problems with the Windows server domain controllers and errors when changing Active Directory attributes during an LDAP change process. Further details on the patches can be found on the respective Microsoft support website linked in the list.
