AIDA does without cooking schools – and instead relies on vegan cuisine

In a few days, starting June 24, 2023, guests on AIDAnova, AIDAperla and AIDAprima will be able to enjoy dishes made from fresh and primarily plant-based ingredients in the new “Soulkitchen” à la carte restaurant. For this purpose, the cooking schools on board the three ships have been renovated in recent weeks.

The redesign could be completed during ongoing operations. The Soulkitchen is a new meeting place for breakfast and dinner on board.

The new restaurant offers guests a healthy start to the day in the morning. A selection of vegan delicacies is served directly at the seat in a quiet atmosphere. From the butter to the cheese to the cold cuts, everything is plant-based. Homemade spreads, overnight oats, banana bread, fresh fruit and crunchy vegetables round off the nutrition-conscious enjoyment.

In the evening, the Soulkitchen serves daily changing 3‑course menus between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The menu features a variety of vegan and plant-based meat and seafood alternatives, such as coconut-lemongrass soup, almond-barley risotto with roasted king oyster mushrooms, and a trio of crème brûlée. Non-alcoholic wines and spirits are also available.

The dishes are prepared under the eyes of the guests. AIDA’s kitchen professionals are now in action where cooking students used to work.

You don’t want to completely part with the cooking school concept. There is still room for courses and workshops between restaurant times.

Vegan offer also on the rest of the fleet

Since the end of 2022, guests have been able to choose between various plant-based specialities, vegan creams and spreads from our own production and other offers. Since March 2023, a further 15 new vegan dishes have been available at the buffet in the market restaurant on AIDAcosma, AIDAperla, AIDAprima and AIDAnova.

The vegan offer on board the Sphinx ships was also expanded by 20 new dishes in the same period and a new concept day was introduced, which explicitly takes conscious nutrition into account.
