Agathe de la Boulaye joined Plus belle la vie, even plus belle at the time of the transfer of the series from France 3 to TF1 in January 2024. The one who slips into the skin of the formidable Vanessa Kepler spoke with AlloCiné during the Festival CANNESERIES 2024 and returned to her integration into the cast of the series. AlloCiné: What initial assessment do you draw from your experience within the casting of “Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle”?
Agathe de la Boulaye: A very positive outcome because it was a mixture of a really warm welcome and then a working atmosphere with a lot of dialogue, with people who don’t take themselves seriously but who work seriously. I also have the chance to play a character that I really like!
This is the first time I’ve played in a daily newspaper. Often, when you make a film or a play, you know in advance the entire spectrum of acting that your character will experience. There, I gradually discover the situations in which my character is immersed… It’s a bit like in life, you don’t know what will happen to you tomorrow! There’s a bit of a surprise bag effect.
Did you follow the series before and did you have a favorite character?
I don’t have TV so I didn’t necessarily follow… I discovered this series at the very beginning, thanks to a little cousin who sang the credits all the time! I really like the character of Blanche.
Would you like to have more scenes with Cecilia Hornus ?
I can’t tell you everything but it will be nice [avec elle, ndlr]…
So what will happen between Vanessa and Blanche?
Let’s say that sometimes, appearances are confining and the idea we have of a character is never what we really believe. Vanessa is someone who protects herself by being cold. It’s a safe! Her behavior is always at the height of a fragility that she seeks to protect. We will gradually reveal what she is hiding…
Are tensions to be expected between her and her son Ulysses?
Vanessa is a wolf to her family. Whatever happens, she is one of those people who does her best to ensure there is no friction. It’s a priority for her.
And what about Ophélie, his daughter who went through a difficult time?
Some tensions still exist regarding what happened. It was beautiful to play, the helplessness of a mother in the face of what her child is going through and trying to do what she can as a mother.
How do you get along with Morgane Frioux And Jérémy Charvet who play your offspring in “More beautiful life, even more beautiful”?
Very very good. We’re a bit like the Kepler family! We even see each other outside of filming. We laugh a lot and then we work in the same way. We like to prepare, talk about the scenes, do our thing… It’s a chance.
On the heart side, will Vanessa meet someone soon?
For now, she is very focused on her children and business.
