The shock was quite violent, but the pilot of the motorcycle, taken care of by the SAMU, was conscious at the time of his evacuation by helicopter. It was just before 6 p.m. on Sunday April 17 when the accident occurred, on the departmental road 1005 which leads to the Col de la Faucille, in the Pays de Gex.
According to initial findings, the motorcycle was climbing towards the Col when a vehicle arriving opposite, in the direction of the descent towards Gex, cut him off by turning to enter a parking lot.
The helicopter was able to land nearby to transport the seriously injured biker.
