Air Liquide: two new US production units – 04/10/2024 at 6:10 p.m.

(CercleFinance.com) – Air Liquide announces the development of its biomethane production capacities in the United States, with the construction of two new production units. Located in Center Township, Pennsylvania and Holland Township, Michigan. They will treat waste from dairy farms.

These methanizers will produce biogas from manure for a total production capacity of 74 GWh and will make it possible to return the residue to agricultural operations for their needs.

Thanks to the gas separation membrane technology patented by Air Liquide, the biogas will then be purified into biomethane and then injected into the natural gas network.

Air Liquide currently operates 26 biomethane production units around the world, for an annual production capacity of approximately 1.8 TWh.

Armelle Levieux, member of the Air Liquide Executive Committee and Director of Innovation: ‘Biomethane is part of the portfolio of solutions developed by Air Liquide to support the decarbonization of its customers in the industrial and transport sectors. ‘
