(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announced on Friday that ITA Airways, the Italian airline that succeeded Alitalia, had taken delivery today in Hamburg of its first Airbus A321neo, leased from Air Lease.

ITA Airways, whose fleet of 81 aircraft is entirely made up of Airbus, has until now operated the latest generations of the A220, A320neo, A330neo and A350 families, Airbus said in a press release.

The A321neo, intended for its medium-haul routes, must be available in three classes, including 12 business seats equipped with fully flat beds, 12 extended ‘Premium’ seats and 141 ‘Economy’ seats.

The aircraft is also equipped with the aircraft manufacturer’s latest developments, including extra-large baggage compartments and personalized LED lighting intended to reduce passenger fatigue.

To date, the A321neo has received a total of 5,500 customer orders.
