Airbus: Amazon Air opts for 10 A330s for its deliveries

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces that Amazon Air has signed a firm agreement for the lease of ten A330-300P2F freighters to Altavair.
The fleet will be operated for Amazon by Hawaiian Airlines and will help deliver on the promise to Amazon Prime customers of 24-hour delivery.

Airbus specifies that the ten aircraft are currently at the Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), the European aircraft manufacturer’s center of excellence, where they must be converted from a passenger version to a cargo version, the most suitable for freight transport.

“We are delighted to welcome Airbus to our Amazon Air fleet,” said Philippe Karam, director of Amazon Global Air Fleet & Sourcing.

“These A330-300s will not only be the first of their kind in our fleet, they will also be Amazon Air’s newest and largest aircraft, allowing us to deliver more customer packages on every flight.”
