Airbus: began testing DragonFly technologies

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus UpNext, a 100% subsidiary of Airbus, has started testing new pilot assistance technologies, on the ground and in flight, on an A350-1000 test aircraft.

Known as DragonFly, the technologies being demonstrated include automated emergency diversion in cruise, automatic landing and taxi assistance. They also aim to assess the feasibility and relevance of further exploring autonomous flight systems.

“These tests are one of many steps in the methodical search for technologies to further improve operations and improve safety,” said Isabelle Lacaze, DragonFly demonstrator manager, Airbus UpNext.
