(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces the signature of a contract entrusting it with the last phase of the TRUTHS mission of the European Space Agency (ESA), as part of the Earth observation program (Earth Watch) of the ESA for the study of climate change.
This contract, worth €109.3 million including options, covers detailed mission and payload definition, and focuses on payload development and risk reduction activities.
The mission of the TRUTHS satellite is to measure the radiation and sunlight reflected by the Earth’s surface relative to a precise reference, in order to improve climatological data and calibrate observations from other satellites.
