(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus announces a partnership agreement with Voyager Space, paving the way for a transatlantic joint venture to develop, build and operate Starlab, a commercial space station planned to succeed the International Space Station (ISS).
Implementation of the joint venture will be subject to applicable regulatory approvals. Dominantly American, it will have a European entity to directly serve the European Space Agency and the space agencies of its Member States.
This agreement builds on a partnership entered into last January, in which Voyager announced that it had chosen the European aircraft manufacturer to provide technical design support and expertise for Starlab.
