Airbus: signing of an agreement on 28 helicopters with PHI

(CercleFinance.com) – Airbus Helicopters announces that it has signed a framework agreement with PHI Group (PHI) including commitments concerning 20 H175 super-medium helicopters and 8 H160 models.

These 28 state-of-the-art helicopters will enable PHI to better meet the growing offshore transportation needs expected from the energy market. These commitments consist of firm orders as well as purchase options that PHI may exercise during the framework agreement.

In service since 2015, the Airbus H175 belongs to the super-medium helicopter class, combining long range and smooth flight qualities.

For its part, the H160 is designed as a multi-purpose helicopter capable of carrying out a wide range of missions. It is powered by two of Safran Helicopter Engines’ latest Arrano engines which, according to Airbus, offer a 15% reduction in fuel consumption.

The aircraft manufacturer also adds that the H175 and H160 are already certified to fly with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel.
