Airbus: the Eutelsat 36D satellite shipped to the United States – 03/11/2024 at 12:21 p.m.


(CercleFinance.com) – The Eutelsat 36D geostationary telecommunications satellite, built by Airbus, was shipped from Toulouse, France, to Sanford, Florida, United States, aboard an Airbus BelugaST (A300-600ST) .

Its next stop is the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where it will be launched into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9.

Eutelsat 36D is based on the latest generation Eurostar Neo geostationary telecommunications satellite and will provide TV broadcasting (DTH) and government services over Africa, Europe and Eastern countries.

Philippe Pham, Director of Telecommunications and Navigation Systems at Airbus, said: ‘Eutelsat 36D is the latest milestone in our long-standing partnership with Eutelsat, which has spanned more than 30 years. This is the 22nd geolocation satellite we are building for them and will provide extended capacity over Africa and Eurasia.’
