PARIS (Reuters) – Airbus is seeking to cut 750 positions in its Defense and Space division as part of a reorganization, union sources reported, or around 2% of its workforce.

This reshuffle should not lead to layoffs but should result in a reduction in hiring over the next two years, union sources said.

A spokesperson for the world’s largest aircraft maker confirmed to Reuters the target of 750 job cuts, adding that this would not lead to an overall reduction in workforce “while our business is growing”.

Airbus’ Defense and Space division employed 34,330 people at the end of 2022.
