(CercleFinance.com) – Aker Solutions announces that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with OKEA for the Draugen electrification project, off the coast of Norway.
The project foresees major modifications to the existing platform to allow it to receive a power supply cable from the quay.
This project should replace the electricity production from gas turbines that was on the platform and reduce CO2 emissions by around 200,000 tonnes per year.
Aker Solutions expects this letter of intent to result in an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract in the first quarter of 2023, with orders between 2, 5 and 4 billion Norwegian crowns (i.e. between 240 and 380 million euros approximately).
