AkzoNobel: a logistics platform soon ready in China

(CercleFinance.com) – A logistics platform, which is set to become AkzoNobel’s largest warehousing base in China, is on track to be completed by May 2023.

Located at the company’s decorative paints site in Songjiang, Shanghai, the new 10.3 million euro facility will use smart digital technologies and advanced security management to customize storage and operating modes .

“East China is an important region for us and this facility will position us well to meet the expected growth in demand over the next decade,” said Mark Kwok, AkzoNobel’s president of China and North Asia.

Equipped with a heat-insulating roof as well as nearly 5,000 solar panels, the new facility will collect clean energy and use it to light warehouses and offices, as well as to charge forklifts.

Earlier this year, AkzoNobel also announced that it was investing in a new texture paint production line. The new 2,500 square meter factory will increase the production capacity of Dulux products for various markets.
