The fans dreamed of it, the Souchons are going to make it happen! After several years of procrastination and a risk of no longer seeing the famous singer go on stage, Alain Souchon and his sons, Charles and Pierre finally managed to agree to go on tour all threelike what other famous artistic families have done, such as the Chédids or the Dutroncs: “My father didn’t want to go on tour again, except with his sons, that amused him. We wanted to get together and spend time together. And he has never done this format” confided this Monday, February 12 to our colleagues at Parisian Charles Souchon, also known by his artist name, Ours, before being confirmed by his father: “I found it funny to come back with two acoustic guitars and a piano, me who is always accompanied by four, five musicians. We’ll have fun” completed the one who has not always had a simple life.
On the program for the three musicians, nearly 100 dates throughout France, starting on May 7, where they will perform for this premiere in a hall in Vésinet: “We will only do theaters. The orchestrations, the choice of songs, it will be intimate, cozy, soft, a light formula. Let people sit and listen to my father’s lyrics.” Charles explained. Because, even if the two sons also have their repertoires, they are well aware that the headliner remains their dad: “He wanted us to sing equally and we told him no. His repertoire is so huge, people come for him. It’s a concert by our father, who we accompany. We’re no longer in our place like that.” he added. If no album from the trio is planned to support this tour, a new title with father and son should however see the light of day. Fans, for their part, should not miss being there for THAT!
Alain Souchon: a tour as a last stand?
This tour of the singer with his sons, who also collaborated with him on his last album in 2019, Fifties soulsthe fans no longer believed it, the singer not being not returned to the stage, except for rare exceptions, for two years, and speaking very little in the media. Almost 80 years old, the famous interpreter of Sentimental crowd seemed, without saying it, to be taking the path of retirement. But this new challenge with Charles and Pierre, probably supported by his wife and their mother, Françoise, surely gave the singer the desire to return to the stage. This tour could therefore well be a last stand for the singer, with family.
