Alan Wake 2 was originally scheduled for release on October 17th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, the development team has postponed this date again.
According to a recent Twitter post from the official Alan Wake 2 account, the game isn’t due out until October 27th. The developers give the release month as the reason.
Reason for postponement
The development team explains in the Twitter post that October is a popular month for game releases. Games such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Cities Skylines 2 will be released this month.
With the postponement, the development team wants to ensure that all players have enough time to experience their favorite games in peace. In addition, these games could also be a competition for the upcoming horror title.
Not surprisingly, game director Kyle Rowley previously asked Rockstar Games not to release a potential Red Dead Redemption remaster in October as well.
