Fire alarm on Monday evening in the Ausserfern in Tyrol: a fire broke out at a timber construction company in Höfen, probably due to a technical defect. Several fire brigades from the area fought against the flames and the enormous smoke development. The damage is enormous.
Shortly before 9.30 p.m. the sirens wailed in Höfen and the surrounding communities. “Warehouse fire” was the operational code of the Tyrol control center. An employee of the timber construction company was busy with control activities when he suddenly noticed the fire due to the enormous smoke development. The employee immediately sounded the alarm! The fire brigades from Höfen, Lechaschau, Wängle and Reutte arrived immediately and luckily were able to bring the situation under control relatively quickly and extinguish the fire. Wood chips have ignitedThe police assume a technical cause of the fire. “Probably due to a defect, wood chips caught fire in the area of a machine – the fire then spread through the factory building,” the investigators say. Fortunately, no one was injured. However, there was considerable material damage in the workshop. The amount cannot be estimated at this time.
