(CercleFinance.com) – Albioma gains more than 2% and therefore outperforms the trend in Paris, after the announcement of the acquisition of the wood pellet production plant in La Granaudière, Quebec, allowing it to diversify its sources of sustainable biomass supply.
The return to service of this plant, which has been shut down since July 2021 as part of the receivership, is scheduled for early 2022 and its nominal production capacity of 200,000 tonnes will be reached after additional investments have been made.
‘Thanks to this transaction, which provides access to a pellet production capacity that meets the most stringent requirements in terms of sustainability, Albioma is amplifying its commitment to the energy transition in the Overseas Territories,’ explains CEO Frédéric Moyne.
‘In addition to local biomass, to which priority is given, the diversification of our sources of supply is essential to ensure continuous renewable energy production in non-interconnected areas,’ he continues.
