The hardware crisis is still in full swing, but that doesn’t stop discounter favorite Aldi from listing two new gaming PCs in the online shop that will be launched shortly. But is it worth buying the gaming computer? We took a look at the technical data and will tell you.
Medion Engineer P10 & P20: New Aldi gaming PCs in the online shop
At the January 27th marks the start of Aldi’s next gaming offensive. Next Thursday, two new gaming PCs will be available in the online shop – one of them costs 1,299 euros, the other 1,600 euros.
But what do you get for your money? Let’s compare the specs of the two PCs:

Which calculator is worth more?
Both systems offer enough power to play in WQHD resolution with high graphics settings and are also on a similar performance level. The Engineer P20 uses a more modern i5 processor from Intel, which, in contrast to the i7 CPU of the P10, only offers 6 instead of 8 performance cores. However, this difference should hardly be noticeable in games.
What potential buyers should also note is that the newer P20 only uses DDR4 RAM and not the new DDR5 RAM – the manufacturer Medion saves here and leaves additional performance potential on the line.
Other differences: Thanks to the Z690 motherboard and K processor, the P20’s CPU can be directly overclocked, which can further increase the performance. However, this is usually accompanied by higher power consumption. In addition to its 1 TB SSD, the P20 also offers a 2 TB HDD. This is missing in the P10, which leads to a significantly smaller storage capacity.
But which system is worth more? Let’s take a look at the current purchase prices of the individual parts:

The bottom line is that Aldi is selling both gaming PCs for less than the purchase price of the individual parts. However, you get a much bigger bargain when you buy the Medion Erazer Enginner P10 for 1,299 euros. Buyers currently save almost 450 euros here compared to building their own. With the P20, on the other hand, it is “only” just under 225 euros.
Both computers will be launched in the online shop on January 27, 2022 at 7:00 a.m. The past has already shown that such offers sold out in minutes. Potential buyers should therefore mark the date in their calendars, set a reminder if necessary and get up early next Thursday in order to even have a chance of securing one of the two computers.
