The last episode of season 7 of Alex Hugo will be broadcast this February 1 at 9:10 p.m. on France 3. After the announcement of the departure of Lionel Astier several months ago, the actor Samuel Le Bihan who plays alongside him evokes a possible return in season 8.
New start. The actor Lionel Astier, who has played the role of Angelo Batalla since 2014, announced in May 2021 that he was ready to live a new adventure and to leave the set for good from the Alex Hugo series. A choice that his playmate, Samuel Le Bihan, understands rather well according to his comments to Télé Loisirs. “Lionel wants to participate in other projects and sometimes, the filming of Alex Hugo prevents him from doing so and he is obliged to refuse. It’s normal that he wants to live his artistic adventure. And as I love him very much, I find it normal that he needs to be fulfilled”. Wise words followed by a very particular wish: that Angelo Batalla, interpreted by Lionnel Astier, is not replaced in the series.
“I don’t want to be replaced” explained Samuel Le Bihan to start. “I don’t want someone to come and be in Angelo’s place, in particular to give him the opportunity to come back if he wants to“. Even if the actor Lionel Astier therefore seems ready to explore new horizons, he knows that he will always have his place in the Alex Hugo series alongside Samuel Le Bihan. His departure could also allow, according to the latter, to bring a touch of welcome change. “In life, there are paths that take us in such amazing directions, I want it to be a new path” he explained.

Do not panic, however, since in addition to the last episode of season 7 of Alex Hugo which will be broadcast this 1er February on France 3, Lionnel Astier will be present in season 8. Still according to Samuel Le Bihan, “we’re still filming for two more seasons, so Lionel isn’t going to leave right away. We will be able to continue to have a little fun together because we have a good laugh. We like to work together“. Angelo will therefore be present in season 8 composed of three episodes and according to Lionnel Astier, he could even be there until season 9, in which his character would say goodbye. However, it will be necessary to wait for the broadcast of this season 9 on France 3 in 2023 to be fixed.
