The broadcast of the last episode of Koh-Lanta had a somewhat bitter taste. In fact, a few days earlier, we learned that Bertrand-Kamal had died of cancer. He was 30 years old. A vibrant tribute was paid to the candidate of this new season by the presenter of the show, Denis Brogniart. If the latter had already confided in the immense pain felt following the loss of Bertrand-Kamal, Alexia Laroche Joubert had not yet confided in this matter.

It was extremely violent

This Monday, September 14, the producer of Koh-Lanta was invited on the set of TPMP, presented by Cyril Hanouna. She returned to the cancer that Bertrand-Kamal suffered and revealed how the young man learned of his disease. So it was after filming the show in October and November that he was diagnosed. She explains : "He was injured in the adventure, something quite benign, and following Koh-Lanta, he was still in pain. At that time, he went to do exams and they detected, on April 17, I think cancer, very aggressive, unfortunately. It was extremely violent. " After the diagnosis, Alexia Laroche Joubert supported the candidate in this ordeal by capelating him regularly. Whatever happens, he wanted Koh-Lanta's broadcast to be maintained. The producer of the show says: "Bertrand-Kamal told his dad it was his best adventure and he wanted to see it."

Bertrand-Kamal therefore suffered from very advanced cancer. Within months, his health deteriorated rapidly. Despite this terrible news, the young man wanted to remain transparent about what he was going through. That’s why he decided to go public about his cancer last July. On his Facebook page, he revealed his illness and, on several occasions, he brought up the subject in interviews for the promotion of Koh-Lanta. The new season has been airing for three weeks now and from the start, Bertrand-Kamal had won over viewers with his kindness and bravery within his team.
