Alfa Romeo Guilia: a 1000 hp Quadrifoglio version in the boxes

Although the Giulia sedan was not a great commercial success, it still marked its time with a Quadrifoglio version powered by a twin-turbo V6 developing 503 hp and a sound that would make the most jaded of motorists shiver. But times are changing, and the Biscione is going to convert to the electricity fairy.

The brand’s CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato, has confirmed that the thermal sedan will be replaced by an all-electric version in 2025. Based on the Stellantis group’s STLA platform, it will have an 800 V architecture, and should therefore carry a 100 kWh battery for substantial autonomy. If we do not have details on the traction chain for the moment, this battery should power different types of electric motorization.

A priori, a 345 hp version should open the range and a muscular version, called Veloce, should offer up to 790 hp. If the value is already flirtatious, the CEO has hinted that the real sports version, the Quadrifoglio, will arrive a little later, around 2027, and will offer even more emotions to enthusiasts with almost 1000 hp, in order to compete with the Porsche Taycan or the Tesla Model S Plaid.

This power should not be at the expense of autonomy, assured the CEO, since the figure of 700 km has been advanced. With its 800 V architecture, it would be possible to hope for a charge of 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

While waiting for the arrival of this future electric Giulia, Jean-Philippe Imperato confided that the brand’s first all-electric vehicle, the Brennero, would be a B-segment SUV. No doubt based on the same platform as the Jeep Avenger, it will also be available in thermal and hybrid versions.
