INFO LE FIGARO – The EELV adviser from Paris, and militant feminist media, wishes to be “a whistleblower” in the Senate.

Soon a new stage in the political career of Alice Coffin? The EELV adviser from Paris, author of the book The Lesbian Genius – in which she claims to boycott male artists – would see herself evolving in the Senate. In view of the senatorial elections in September, the feminist activist has submitted her candidacy “for women’s college” to the executive office of EELV Paris which is organizing from 13 to 16 April a “advisory vote” among members. The nominations must then be validated at the national level, by the federal council of the party.

“Speech Relay”

In an internal profession of faith – that Le Figaro was able to consult – Alice Coffin reveals her motivations: “Each new elected day, each session of the Council of Paris confirms to me that this fight for the information of all and all, this relay of the word of those who are never heard, are amplified when one is elected. . In the Senate, we are in the minority, but that does not prevent us from convincing.she believes. “I very often see my political role as that of a whistleblower. The Senate is a privileged institution to carry out this mission.says the ecologist.

It remains to be seen whether Alice Coffin will succeed in convincing the Parisian members. The elected official, who joined EELV in 2020, notably faces two of her colleagues from the Town Hall: Antoinette Guhl, also a councilor for Paris, and Anne Souyris, deputy mayor in charge of health. The latter two are part of the environmental executives established for a long time in the capital.

Another name submitted to the vote, this time in the “men’s college”: Yannick Jadot. The former presidential candidate had announced his ambition to become a senator in early 2023. There too, the MEP will have to face several environmental figures from the capital, such as Frédéric Hocquard, deputy mayor in charge of tourism and the night, or Jean-Baptiste Pegeon, regional councilor of Ile-de-France.
