The processors
Chagal are finally out of the woods for an AMD start to the year under the sign of Threadripper.
While we expected them earlier in the year, the new Threadripper processors are finally talking about them and after confirmation of their release for early March, we have the details of their technical specifications.
Generalized TDP of 280 Watts
Igor’s Lab has published a very precise and detailed table listing the various models of the future range. As you can see, it is therefore indeed a question of five references for the moment.
The Threadripper PRO 5995WX will logically be the most powerful with its 64 cores / 128 threads, 32MB L2 cache, 256MB L3 cache, and frequencies between 2.7 GHz and 4.55 GHz. It will be supported by the 5975WX in 32C / 64T for an L2 / L3 cache of 16 MB / 128 MB. The frequencies are established at 3.6 GHz base and 4.55 GHz in boost.
Next is the 5965WX with its 24C / 48T, 12MB / 128MB L2 / L3 cache and 3.8 GHz / 4.55 GHz frequencies. Finally, the range is completed by the 5955WX (16C / 32T, 8 MB of L2, 64 MB of L3 and 4 GHz / 4.55 GHz) and the 5945WX (12C / 24T, 6 MB of L2, 64 MB of L3 and 4.1 GHz / 4.55 GHz). Note that according to the documents of our colleagues, all the CPUs in the range are at 280 Watts of TDP.
