All-wheel drive & bold performance – MG4: compact electric car is now super sporty

MG Motor is expanding the range of its electrically powered compact model MG4 with the sporty Electric XPower variant. It will celebrate its public premiere at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood in mid-July. The name comes from a curious V8 sports car of the noughties.

Instead of eight cylinders, as with the former XPower, MG relies on tight copper windings for the two electric motors, which together produce 320 kW/435 hp. Maximum torque 600 Nm. This makes the XPower the most powerful MG of all time. And the fastest to start: the sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h takes just 3.8 seconds, 200 km/h is the highest of feelings in terms of longitudinal dynamics. The engineers have improved chassis rigidity and braking performance, a dynamic cornering control system, an electronic locking differential and torque vectoring between all four wheels promise a higher level of driving pleasure in corners orange-painted calipers gleam. Depending on the driving mode, the 64 kWh battery enables a WLTP range of between 385 and 536 kilometers. (SPX)
