Last year, THQ Nordic unveiled Alone in the Dark, remake of the cult game of Frédérick Raynal who launched the genre of survival horror. The publisher had given us an appointment tonight for a spotlight to learn more about the game, you can find the presentation right here :
This presentation ofAlone in the Dark first introduced us to its cast, and Pieces Interactive saw things in a big way, because Edward Carnby will be played by David Harbor (Stranger Things, Hellboy, Gran Turismo), who will lend him his voice, but also his face, while Jodie Comer will play Emily Hartwood. As a reminder, this character will also be playable, it is the niece of Jeremy Hartwoodoccupant of a mansion that feels threatened by a mysterious threat, the sinister Dark Man. The developers then returned to the gameplaynotably by meeting Frédérick Reynalthe designer of the 1992 game. The title will therefore take up the bases of the old survival horror in the mansion Derceto, but obviously everything was redone from A to Z, with some surprises for the fans of the time. The action will be present, with firearms with very limited ammunition and melee weapons, it will be necessary to use cunning to survive against enemies, but the heart of the game will remain exploration and deduction to find out what happened to Jeremy Hartwood. You will have to wait to embody Edward Or Emilybut players can already download a free demo, Prologue of Alone in the Dark allowing to control the small Grace Saunders in the mansion Derceto before the start of the adventure. Pieces Interactive finally granted a small segment to the music, which will be composed by Árni Bergur Zoëga and by Jason Köhen, who have teamed up to create tracks for Dark/Doom-Jazzboth harrowing and perfectly in the spirit of the game’s era, reminiscent of the Black Movies and horror at the same time.
Finally, the nightly presentation ended with great news: Alone in the Dark release date set for October 25, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, you can already pre-order it against €59.99 on Amazon. Between this remake and Alan Wake 2players will be busy!
