Alone in the Dark: the release date severely postponed, for an obvious reason

Alone in the Dark wants to scare us by making us embody Edward Carnby (David Harbor) and Emily Hartwood (Jodie Comer) through an adventure in a dark mansion, in which the terrifying seems to lurk Dark Man. But even horror games have their own fears, such as not being faced with AAA at the end of the year.

Dated a while back to October 25, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the reboot of the famous saga had to face competition from big names like Super Mario Bros. wonder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Forza Motorsport Or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, he will refuse the obstacle: to ensure better commercial success, THQ Nordic decided to reject it. And not a little, as did Alan Wake 2 : the new release date is set to January 16, 2024by a press release which clearly quotes its adversaries in proof. Pieces Interactive will not be unemployed, however, and will take the opportunity to refine the project to the end.

Horror games thrive on the delicate balance of tension, exploiting our vulnerability and the eerie embrace of loneliness. Imagine walking through a dimly lit house in the middle of the night, where low whispers and unidentifiable noises send shivers down your spine. Now imagine this disturbing scenario not alone, but accompanied by a group of 28 intriguing individuals. The fear factor goes down, doesn’t it? Therefore, the expected release of Alone in the Dark will gracefully move away from the chaotic October 2023 launch window.

Our intention is to avoid competing with the wake of Alan’s epic adventure and escape the dazzling skyline of cities sublimated by the graceful swings of Spider-Man. Our goal is to stay as alone as possible in the dark. To honor this, the spooky horror game has been rescheduled to unveil its horrors on January 16, 2024. This expansion will serve a dual purpose: not only will it allow us to meticulously hone the gameplay experience, but it will also give us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the remarkable releases of October.

This is honest, and should give more chances to Alone in the Dark to end up in your hands: you can pre-order your copy from €54.99 on Amazon.co.uk.
