January 17, 2022 marks the start of the Alpe d’Huez Festival, which will take place until January 23. Only, its president Michèle Laroque will be “teleworking”, as she announced with humor on Twitter.
Change of program. This January 17, 2022 marks the opening of the Alpe d’Huez Festival who returns after a year of absence due to the pandemic and the coronavirus. Only it is not because the festival takes place that the Covid-19 is forgotten, far from it. Michèle Laroque, who was to chair the jury for the 2021 edition which was canceled, and who is therefore president of the jury for the 2022 edition, is positive for Covid-19, and this since January 16 in the evening. Already on site and this bad news arriving at the last moment, Michèle Laroque should therefore do the video sessions in order to remain isolated but to be able to participate in the festivities – from afar, as she indicated on Twitter.
This is a first for the Alpe d’Huez Festival, the coronavirus continuing to create unprecedented situations and forcing the organizations of many events to find solutions to be able to adapt at the last minute. Fortunately, the comedy festival program will be there to guarantee a little good humor. As a reminder, it was during the Alpe d’Huez Festival that films such as Welcome to the Ch’tis in 2008, Everything that shines in 2010 or The golden cage in 2013. For this new edition which also marks the 25th anniversary of the festival, the films presented will therefore live up to the reputation of the festival.

Even if Michèle Laroque will not be able, like her co-stars, to be face-to-face during the festival, she will still participate in the presentation, at the opening of the festival, of the film Despite himself superheroes whose projection will launch the festivities. Also on the program, rumba life with Franck Dubosc – who will therefore be present, or even Revenge of the Glitter Shrimp who will offer a long-awaited sequel to all who loved Spangled Shrimps. Finally, on the jury side, the president Michèle Laroque, who will be in solitary confinement, will still be accompanied by a prestigious team. Joséphine Japy, Malik Bentalha, Mathilde Seigner and Ruben Alves will also be there to make decisions that promise to be difficult concerning all the films in competition.
