Alphonso Williams: family thanks for "nice surprise"

A year ago, "DSDS" star Alphonso Williams died. Now his family thanked them for a special fan campaign.

Alphonso Williams (1962-2019) died on October 12, 2019 of complications from prostate cancer. The former "DSDS" winner was only 57 years old. On the first anniversary of the singer's death, his family spoke up on Instagram. "Today it's 1 year since Alphonso left … It doesn't seem longer than a few days that it should have been a year for us is incomprehensible to us," says the post about photos of the grave Musician.

"Overwhelmed by all the love"

Williams' family also revealed: "When we wanted to prepare the grave, a nice surprise awaited us. THANK YOU very much, dear fan family, for this beautiful flower heart on Alphonso's grave and the beautiful card that you sent us." The relatives of the singer were "overwhelmed by all the love that we, and especially Alphonso, are allowed to receive". At the end of the message, the family writes: "This day is not easy for all of us. Let us be there for each other and get through this day as best we can. Feel depressed".

In 2017 Williams won the 14th season of the RTL casting show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar". In 2018 he took third place in the sixth "Celebrity Big Brother" season. He left behind his wife and two children.
