Alpine skiing – The junior world champion strikes in the home race

While Austria’s ski women do not compete for victory in the World Cup slalom in Levi, Finland, the red-white-red ski men continue to provide success reports. Responsible for this: giant slalom junior world champion Lukas Feurstein!

Last Sunday, Christian Hirschbühl from Vorarlberg ensured the first red-white-red World Cup victory of the winter with his triumph in the parallel giant slalom in Lech-Zürs. Now another Vorarlberger – two floors below – has achieved the next ÖSV victory: the reigning giant slalom junior world champion Lukas Feurstein won his third FIS slalom on Pass Thurn, 0.38 seconds ahead of Tyrolean Armin Dornauer. Third place went to the world cup-tested Pinzgau-Belgian Sam Maes.Feurstein had recently prepared himself with the ÖSV training group of coach Robert “Momo” Füss in perfect conditions on the World Cup slope in Zürs. With great success, as the result impressively proves.
