Alstom: a consortium launches autonomous minibuses

(CercleFinance.com) – The group announces that a French consortium will deploy fully autonomous minibuses in the city center of Châteauroux.

This consortium is preparing the launch of a new level 4 automated collective public transport service (without operator on board) and carbon-free.

The consortium includes: Renault Group for the robotic electric minibus platform, EasyMile for the autonomous driving system, StatInf for the validation of critical software elements, Equans for the Operation Assistance and Passenger Information system, Alstom for the connected security infrastructure and communication protocols and Keolis for the operation and maintenance of these new public transport services.

A fleet of 6-meter automated electric minibuses will join the Châteauroux Métropole public transport network in 2026.

This project, called Mach2, marks a decisive step in the development of automated public transport in France, and more generally in Europe.
