(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom announces that it has signed a contract with Railpool, a European railway rolling stock leasing company, for the delivery of 50 Traxx Universal multi-system locomotives, for a value that could reach up to 260 million euros.
These locomotives can be used for transporting both goods and passengers, and can be used in eight European countries, namely Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland.
Design and engineering will be carried out at Alstom’s Mannheim site, while assembly will take place in Kassel, Germany. The project will also involve its sites in Wroclaw (Poland), Siegen (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland).
