Alstom: inaugurated a new climatic chamber – 01/23/2023 at 12:17


(CercleFinance.com) – Alstom and the Center d’Essais Ferroviaires (CEF) have inaugurated the new climate chamber at the Center d’Essais Ferroviaires de Petite-Forêt, intended to develop heating, air conditioning and insulation systems rolling stock for approval.

This new test chamber allows trains, buses, coaches and other vehicles to be subjected to temperatures ranging from 70ºC to -45ºC.

Second French climatic chamber, it is complementary to that of Alstom located in La Rochelle and will limit the use of comparable climatic test chambers located abroad.

‘ This new test facility also aims to pave the way for research, development and innovation projects in areas as varied as indoor air quality, energy consumption and resistance and aging of materials’ indicates the group.
