Stefan Mross and SWR will continue their “successful collaboration” for “Always on Sundays,” as the broadcaster has now confirmed.

The last edition of the season of “Always on Sundays” was broadcast at the end of August. The music and entertainment show, which is shown live on Sunday mornings in the summer months on Erste, is scheduled to start again next year at the end of May. The new episodes in 2024 will again be presented by presenter Stefan Mross (47), as SWR confirmed at the request of the news agency spot on news. “The SWR is continuing its long-standing, successful collaboration with the popular presenter Stefan Mross,” the statement says. Exactly how long the collaboration will continue is unknown.

Stefan Mross: Penalty order accepted

Mross’ existence as “Always on Sundays” presenter was briefly in question this year. The moderator accepted a criminal order issued against him by the Leipzig public prosecutor’s office in November last year and has a criminal record as a result. The accusation was assault and attempted coercion. In April 2023 the confirmed SWR said in a statement from the news agency spot on news that the collaboration is not at risk. “Together with Stefan Mross, we discussed and clarified the facts and background honestly, openly and on the basis of mutual trust,” it said. On this basis, the “long-term successful collaboration” will now be continued. From the first show on May 7, Mross, who has presented the show since 2005, continued to host the Sunday show.
