Lucid Motors has managed to stand out in recent years with its smashing expansion. This was boosted by an investment of one billion dollars from Saudi Arabia, eager to clean up its image by taking advantage of the rise of electric cars in the world. Although announced in 2017, the brand’s very first car, the Lucid Air, was only released late last year. But the machine is launched, and the American company began deliveries of the Lucid Air Grand Touring yesterday.
She also took the opportunity to announce the upcoming arrival of a faster and more powerful version, the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance, which, if it greatly increases its performance, does so at the expense of autonomy. For comparison, the Lucid Air Grand Touring, sold at $139,000, has an output of 579 kW (over 800 horsepower) for a range of up to 830 kilometers, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in three seconds.
Its just-announced little sister was developed for speed fans and offers up to 1,050 horsepower (783 kW). It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, according to the presentation video, with a lower autonomy of 722 kilometers. Anyway, these cars, although impressive, will remain confined to a very limited wealthy audience, so we will not see many of them on the roads.
