More than adding magic-based powers, this update named Age of Sorcery intends to mark a fundamental change in the way the game will continue to develop in the years to come. Instead of the expansions and additional content released so far, the next thematic updates (the Ages) will be released free of charge but accompanied by a battle pass mixing free and paid content, the latter replacing the current model based on cosmetic DLCs .
This first battle pass will include construction parts, weapons, armor and mounts based on sorcery, as many rewards to unlock by completing objectives or by taking out the bank card to unlock levels without waiting. “Ages are forward-looking, to provide content updates at a steady pace and ensure an easy way for any player to support game growth, while receiving exclusive themed cosmetics“, says Funcom.
Waiting, Age of Sorcery will allow players to use all sorts of sacrificial rituals and lethal spells. This update expected in the third quarter of 2022 further includes a host of improvements, including an overhaul of perks and attributes. We are also promised changes in the open world of the game, especially with the appearance of a fast travel system. Funcom admitting that its building system has aged a bit, it too is getting a complete overhaul highlighting a faster and easier interface, especially on the controller.
