Amanda is blind and is living her dream of becoming a ballerina
Many children have the dream of being a ballerina.
It is the dream of many girls to be the prima ballerina one day. The eleven-year-old Amanda has fulfilled it, although she cannot see.
Dancing is still one of the favorite hobbies of many children. The idea of standing on a big stage, having a hall full of an audience in front of you and performing the choreography that has been rehearsed for months makes many boys and girls sparkle. Amanda had had this dream for a long time, but one limitation has so far prevented her from achieving her dance dream: She has been blind since she was born.
Your wish comes true – Amanda is one of the few blind ballerinas
In general there are hardly any dance programs for blind and visually impaired people in Germany. With dance teacher Lea Elena Held, Amanda has now found a person who has helped her to make her lifelong dream come true. An RTL team accompanied them. In the video you can see how her dance lessons go.
