Amazfit is a brand apart in the field of connected watches. The manufacturer certainly offers relatively standard models, without the possibility of installing third-party applications and based on the RTOS system, but it has managed to carve out a share of the sports watch market, notably thanks to its Amazfit Cheetah or Amazfit T-watches. Rex.

This week, two watches with very different formats, but with very similar characteristics, were unveiled by the Chinese brand, the Amazfit Active and the Amazfit Active Edge.

An Amazfit Active with the look of an Apple Watch

The Amazfit Active is a connected watch with a format quite similar to that of the Apple Watch with its square screen and rounded edges. The watch benefits from a 1.75 inch diagonal Oled screen with a density of 341 pixels per inch. It promises up to 14 days of battery life in typical use, 10 days in intensive mode and 16 hours with GPS activated. Above all, the watch does not skimp on sports functions with the possibility of monitoring your heart rate, sleep monitoring, integration of GPS tracking and the possibility of importing a route in GPX format to follow it during your training .

Activities can also be synchronized with Adidas Running, Strava, Komoot and Relive. Finally, the watch can accommodate music thanks to its 250 MB storage, but also allow you to make phone calls via Bluetooth thanks to the integrated microphone and speaker.

A much more adventurous Amazfit Active Edge

If the Amazfit Active looks like an Apple Watch, the Amazfit Active Edge this time seems to be inspired by a trail watch like the Garmin Epix Gen 2 with a much more adventurous appearance. The watch this time has a round TFT LCD screen 1.32 inches in diameter for a density of 277 pixels per inch. It offers autonomy of up to 16 days with 10 days in intensive mode and 20 hours of GPS tracking. In terms of sports functions, the Amazfit Active Edge has the same sports functions as its little sister, including GPS tracking. However, it can be used for shallow diving thanks to its 10 ATM certification.

Price and availability of the Amazfit Active and Active Edge

For the moment, only the Amazfit Active, with a square screen, has been launched in France where it is offered at a price of 129.90 euros. The Amazfit Active Edge has, for its part, only been announced in the United States where it costs 140 dollars, or 132 euros excluding tax.
