There is no smoke without fire. As expected, after several leaks about new watches from Amazfit, the Chinese manufacturer, cousin of Zepp and Xiaomi, unveiled this Thursday, during IFA 2022 in Berlin, these new connected watches. These are three models that were unveiled at the show across the Rhine: the Amazfit GTR 4, the Amazfit GTS 4 and the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini.

Unsurprisingly, this new range comes to take over from the Amazfit GTR 3 and GTS 3 launched at the end of last year. Only, unlike the range launched in October 2021, the new 2022 models do not include a variation “Pro”but only one version “Mini”. We can therefore hope for a GTR 4 Pro unveiled in the coming months.

Sport-focused GTS 4 and GTR 4

In detail, the Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 resume, as usual with the Chinese manufacturer, the same overall characteristics, but with a different format. While the GTR 4 benefits from a round case reminiscent of the design of a watch, the GTS 4 – like the GTS 4 Mini – benefits from a square screen. In both cases, however, we will find many common features with GPS track tracking for your workouts, dual band compatible and the planned addition, via an update, of the import of GPX routes, to the like sports watches or the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

The watches also feature 150 sport modes and syncing with Strava and Adidas Running as well as interval training for 10 sports – again via a later update. The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 obviously have heart rate measurement thanks to a new PPG BioTracker 4.0 sensor that can also measure oxygen saturation in the blood. They can also assess the level of stress, respiratory rate and quality of sleep.

Regarding the differences, the Amazfit GTS 4 incorporates a square Oled screen, with an announced autonomy of 14 days and a single rotating crown on the side. For its part, the Amazfit GTR 4 sports a round Amoled screen of 1.75 inches in diameter. The manufacturer promises autonomy of more than a week. It benefits, in addition to the rotating crown, from a physical button on the right edge.

The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 will be launched in France during the third week of October at a price of 199.99 euros.

A GTS 4 Mini watch half the price

In addition to these two high-end watches, Amazfit also announced the launch of a new entry-level watch, the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini. More modest, this one benefits, as the S of its name suggests, from a square screen (S for “square”). It does not carry a GPS chip this time, but remains capable of monitoring more than 120 sports. It also incorporates a 336 x 384 pixel OLED screen and a 270 mAh battery that should provide two weeks of autonomy.
