Amazon is expanding the compatibility of its Alexa ecosystem with the smart lighting network from Philips Hue: In addition to individual light sources, the smart switches are now also displayed as devices in the Amazon Alexa app and can be coupled and controlled.
According to the first user experiences, which react to a report by the tech blogger Caschy, the compatibility of Alexa with the smart switches currently seems to be reduced to simply controlling the routines placed on the switches.
The further design of routines and light environments is still done via the Hue app, which can still be used to conduct and personalize the light orchestra. Individual Hue lighting elements could already be recognized by Alexa and controlled via voice control and the Alexa app.
