Amazon: EU request for information under the DSA

(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission has officially sent Amazon a request for information under the Digital Services Act (DSA).

The Commission asks Amazon to provide more information on the measures it has taken to comply with the obligations relating to risk assessment and mitigation measures aimed at protecting consumers online, in particular with regard to the distribution of illegal products and the protection of fundamental rights.

Amazon must provide the requested information to the Commission no later than December 6, 2023. Based on the evaluation of Amazon’s responses, the Commission will evaluate next steps. This could involve formally initiating proceedings under section 66 of the DSA.

The Commission may impose fines for incorrect, incomplete or misleading information in response to a request for information.
