(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon announced its largest financial commitment to support student education in science, technology, engineering and math by awarding $10 million in college scholarships to 250 senior high school students from communities less favoured.
Each winner of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship will receive $40,000 over four years to study computer science at the university of their choice starting this fall.
Winners will also benefit from a paid internship at Amazon after their freshman year of college to gain real-world, hands-on work experience with support from Amazon executives.
Amazon more than doubled its scholarship commitment from last year by awarding a scholarship to 250 computer science students from less advantaged communities. The program has awarded $22 million in scholarships to 550 students across the United States since 2019.
