Amazon’s new AI tool lets sellers create listings using a simple URL


Shoppers on Amazon are used to sifting through thousands of product listings to find exactly what they want. And most sellers go to great lengths to ensure that each listing is as detailed and accurate as possible.

With the help of artificial intelligence (AI), this is about to become easier for sellers.

Amazon has announced a feature that allows sellers to convert their existing product pages on other websites into detailed Amazon listings by simply copying and pasting a link. Designed to streamline the listing creation process, this feature is powered by AI through Amazon’s cloud computing service, AWS, and leverages proprietary AI models available on Amazon Bedrock.

“Simplify the effort needed for our partners to create compelling product listings”

Sellers will be able to enter a listing link from their own website, and Amazon’s generative AI tools will analyze the information and create engaging listings. Amazon specifies that this new functionality will be deployed gradually.

“We see that generative AI has a great ability to simplify the effort it takes for our partners to create compelling product listings, and we will continue to innovate on these capabilities,” explained Mary Beth Westmoreland, vice president of Amazon, in a blog post.

“By expanding the range of attributes we can automatically generate and further improving the quality of generated content, we continue to reduce the effort required for sellers to create high-quality product detail pages.”

The e-commerce giant has been integrating generative AI functions into its platform since last fall. These AI tools allow sellers to generate product titles, descriptions, and details by providing a few descriptive words or images of the product.

On the buyer side, Amazon has integrated AI-generated review summaries that give users a summary of what buyers said in their product reviews.

When announcing this new feature for sellers, Amazon indicated that more than 100,000 sellers had used the generative AI functions made available to them.
