Basketball professional Patrick Beverley, who has a reputation as a “bad boy”, lost his nerve when his Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated in the NBA playoffs and instigated a conflict with parts of the audience. With the score at 94:114 and 2:32 minutes to play, veteran Beverley threw a basketball from the bench towards the Indiana Pacers fans and hit a woman in the head. “He should be suspended. You can’t just dump a woman. He didn’t just throw once,” former basketball star Charles Barkley said on TNT. The Bucks lost Game 6 of the best-of-seven series 98-120 and fell 2-4 in the first round of the playoffs. Beverley herself did not want to comment on the incident during subsequent interviews in the dressing room.
The Bucks have not made it to the NBA Finals since winning the 2021 championship and now have to accept their second first round exit in a row. Star player Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play for the entire series due to injury. “Winning is incredibly difficult,” said coach Doc Rivers, who took over from Adrian Griffin during the season. The Bucks parted ways with Griffin after 30 wins and 13 losses. As a result, Rivers even had a negative balance.
The best Bucks shooter was the second star player Damian Lillard. He scored 28 points. Bobby Portis also had a good game with 20 points and 15 rebounds. The most successful thrower at Indiana, which impressed with a balanced team performance, was Obi Toppin. The forward scored 21 points.
