Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s War of the Roses never ends. Before an upcoming court case, she reports again.

Johnny Depp (58) and his ex-wife Amber Heard (35) have been divorced since early 2017. Even five years later, a bitter War of the Roses is still raging. The next chapter in the dispute between the former spouses is now being opened. Depp has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, the trial is expected to begin next Monday in Virginia. Heard speaks again in advance on Instagram.

She will be offline for the coming weeks, Heard writes in a post. As her followers might know, she will face her ex-husband in court in the US state. “Johnny is suing me for an opinion piece I wrote for The Washington Post about my experiences with violence and domestic violence,” the actress writes. We are talking about a post from 2018.

She never named him. Instead, she wrote primarily about the price that women would have to pay for opposing men in positions of power. “I continue to pay that price,” Heard writes. When the process is over, she and Depp could “hopefully” put it all behind them.

Elon Musk is set to testify at the trial

The 35-year-old reportedly always received a certain love for her fellow actor and it causes her “great pain that she has to relive the details of their past life together in front of the whole world”. Heard also thanks for the support she has received in recent years – and which she will probably have to rely on “more than ever” in the coming weeks.

According to media reports, the list of witnesses for the trial also includes several prominent names, including star entrepreneur Elon Musk (50) and actor James Franco (43). After Depp’s divorce, Heard dated Musk for several months.

He lost a similar lawsuit against the British tabloid “The Sun”, which Depp had described in an article as a “wife hitter”, in 2020. Depp had denied the allegations. However, the US proceedings are now aimed directly at Heard.

The couple got married in 2015. The two separated again in 2016 and then divorced in 2017. Both parties have in the past accused each other of domestic violence, among other things.
