Amber Heard's sister appeared in court to testify against Heard's ex-husband Johnny Depp. In doing so, she burdened her ex-brother-in-law.
Amber Heard (34) is currently battling with ex-husband Johnny Depp (57, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") in a London court. Among other things, the couple accuses each other of domestic violence. Depp denies this and sued the newspaper "The Sun" because it had dubbed him "woman beater". Heard has now received support from her sister Whitney Henriquez (31), who testified in court on the 13th day of the trial.
Henriquez confirmed her written statement that she felt "very uncomfortable" when she learned in 2013 that her sister Johnny Depp was getting married. The relationship between the two was "turbulent" from the beginning, she is quoted by the British "Daily Mail" among others. She noticed signs of physical abuse, such as bruising, cuts, or abuse, at Heard early in the relationship. "I told her that it was a bad idea and asked her not to pull it off and finish it because it wouldn't get better," said Henriquez.
She had spoken to her sister several times about the abuse, but she "always found an excuse" for it. Depp had also asked her about this, who is said to have either denied the outbreaks of violence or requested proof of this. Henriquez also spoke of an argument between the couple in March 2015. She noticed this because she lived near the two of them in one of Depp's apartments in Los Angeles without rent. Henriquez is said to have intervened, which is why she grabbed Depp and was afraid of falling down the stairs. Heard helped her and also became palpable towards Depp in her defense.
"Other side of him was a monster"
Amber Heard, who charged Depp with physical abuse in at least 14 cases, was interviewed on her third day at the London witness stand for another incident in March 2015 down under. She testified that the Hollywood star allegedly threw up to 30 liquor bottles "like grenades or bombs" at her during a dispute. Depp had previously claimed that Heard had cut off his fingertip in an argument with a bottle of vodka. "I was only throwing things to escape Johnny when he beat me up," Heard replied.
On the fourth day on the witness stand, Heatd also testified that Johnny Depp could be "generous" and "loving" if he was sober, but "the other side of him was a monster". Heard also said she was "so in love" with her ex-husband and "always hoped" that he would overcome his addiction. In a text message to her mother, which was also brought before the court, she wrote that he was "violent and crazy" and that she was desperate that this was the man she loved. In 2015 the couple said yes. After only 15 months of marriage, Heard filed for divorce in May 2016. The divorce became official in early 2017.
