The new super-sampling technique promised by AMD is unveiled in video.

Things promised, things due. Thanks to the release of the latest graphics drivers – Adrenalin 22.3.1 – AMD has introduced several of the new features it announced a while ago.

AMD Link, RSR and RIS are some of these novelties, but we will focus here more willingly on the youngest, the FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 (FSR 2.0).


This technical novelty is not to the credit of these graphics drivers, but AMD has taken advantage of the new Adrenalin to take stock of FSR 2.0 which must, as we supposed, introduce a temporal component in order to improve FSR 1.0.

AMD is obviously trying to place itself in relation to NVIDIA’s DLSS and must therefore reduce the loss of detail observed on FSR 1.0. The video presented by AMD to explain the thing is interesting in more ways than one, but it is only a video because the technique is not yet fully operational.

We will of course wait to be able to judge on parts, but according to AMD officials, the “performance” mode of the FSR 2.0 could be as beautiful as the “quality” mode of the FSR 1.0 while maintaining superior fluidity of the animation. . Hopefully this will be verified soon!
